Well, it’s time to say goodbye to our seasonal residents. All of us on the PGI Fishing Club board wish you a safe trip back home, and we look forward to seeing you again next Fall. Don’t forget to read, on the internet, our fishing club newsletter each month. This way you can keep up with the entire “goings on” in Charlotte Harbor. See you soon.
Saturday, March 29th we held our annual club picnic and we had a great time. About 130 club members enjoyed fried chicken, corn, coleslaw and biscuits, catered by KFC. Appetizers and desserts were provided by our club members and there was plenty of food for all. We played games and the winners were awarded a nice rod and reel combo. I’d like to thank all the volunteers that helped make the picnic a success, and a special thanks goes out to Donnie Brennan, Social Director, for putting together and overseeing another great fishing club social event.
Our club was the first club to use the pavilion last Spring for our picnic. Just a year later it’s taken on a whole new look, the pavers, landscaping, rip–rock around the pond, park benches, umbrellas, and all the finishing touches made this year’s event even nicer. I’d like to say, on behalf all of our members, thank you, for providing us with such a great venue for our events. So if you missed it this year, we’ll see you at next year’s picnic.
What does the second Tuesday of every month bring? Ninety minutes plus, filled with fishing information and social activities. Our next regular meeting is scheduled at 7:00pm, May 13, 2008 in the PGICA building. Stop in once as our guest and see what we have to offer, I’m sure you’ll be pleased. And, don’t forget to enjoy the greatest pastime of all, FISHING in our great waters.
