And here comes summer.  As we say good-bye to some of our northern friends, don’t say good-bye to Newcomer’s!  We’re still around and hope to see you this summer.  Whether you are new to the area or have been here awhile now is your chance to join the PGI Newcomer’s Club and join in the fun.  Read on for all the new events this month! 

7/7– Meet and Greet –.  Meet and Greet is the first Wednesday of each month.  June, July and August gatherings will be on a selected agenda.  Emails will notify you on times and locations.  Contact Glenice Verhoff at 286.1662 or glenicev@gmail.com for further information. 

9/21 - General Membership Meeting –Meetings for June, July and August will be suspended, since many of our members are out of town for the summer months.  Please join us September 21, 2010, 7 p.m. at the PGICA.  We look forward to seeing you to share your wonderful summer memories.

7/21 – Dine Around – At Santhinos Family Restaurant, 615 Cross St. Punta Gorda, 833.0380 at 5 p.m.  Contact Rebecca Diemer at 505.0986 or macthedog4@aol.com to make your reservation.  You won’t want to miss this fun evening.  This group meets monthly at a different restaurant. It’s a wonderful evening with fellow Newcomers.

Food and Friends - Dinner in small groups meet at other Newcomer’s homes on the fourth Friday of each month.  This casual setting enables couples to get to know one another.  Each couple brings an assigned dish . . . hosts provide the main course.  Sign up at the General Meetings or contact Barbara Degon at 639.0693 or bardeg60@yahoo.com to be added to the list, or volunteer your home. 

Out & About – See the Floridian’s newsletter for the details and the exciting plans in store for you.  Out & About tours different sites each month. It is a great way to get to know the area or visit places you just wouldn’t think to do on your own.   

To be able to participate in these activities you must first be a member of the Punta Gorda Isles Civic Association.   You can then join Newcomers.  Please contact our Membership Chairman, Dorrit Tompkins at 467.4555 or newshoes3@hotmail.com for information on becoming a member.  Please join us, as our guest, for the Meet and Greet or the General meeting.
