Membership Application

April, 2008

It’s hard to believe that our snowbird members will soon be leaving for parts unknown. That doesn’t mean those of us who call PGI home year ‘round won’t be just as active as we have been all year. Our committees have been busily working to ensure that Newcomers have more than enough events to keep them hopping all through the summer. If you are new to the area and are looking for friendship and fun gatherings, Newcomers fills the bill.

4/2 – Meet and Greet – Vivante Clubhouse - Bring heavy hors d’oeuvres to share. Monthly Happy Hour where members mingle and get to know one another. Contact Eileen Shore (639-3922) with any questions. (Meets the first Wednesday of each month)

4/9 – Ladies Lunch Bunch - (Ann Small 916-9456 or Kay Boxer 639-9494) Small groups of women meet in each other’s homes. This is a wonderful way to get to know other members and is extremely popular. Sign up at the general meeting. (Meets the second Wednesday of each month) Bring a snack to share and a beverage of your choice.

4/15 – General Meeting – 7PMJoanna Kincaid from the Peace River Wildlife Sanctuary will be the guest speaker. She will be discussing the sanctuary located in Ponce De Leon Park and will be available to answer your questions about the facility. (Monthly meetings are held the third Tuesday night of each month at the PGICA, 7PM)

4/16 – Dine AroundVisani Comedy Club. A fun filled evening beginning with dinner at 7PM, followed by the comedy of Dale Jones at 8PM. In addition to dinner, there is an $8 admission for the show. We are lucky to have a venue such as this so close to home. Call Lonia Camilleri 505-4578 or Judy Keane 639-0612 for further details. Sign up at the general meeting.

4/22 – Out and About – Cayo Costa Cruise at Fisherman’s Village. This is a leisurely boat ride to quiet Cayo Costa, a barrier island Florida State Park. You may see manatees and pods of dolphins in the waters around the island. You can swim or snorkel in the surf, hike or rent a bike. Since there is no eatery on the island, you must bring your own lunch and drink. This is Florida the way Florida used to be. $25 for the boat ticket. Contact Mary Mazur at 1-802-373-1074 for further information. Sign up at the general Meeting.

4/25 – Food and Friends – Casual dining in members’ homes – a great way to really get to know other Newcomers in a comfortable setting. Meets the fourth Friday of each month. Sign up at the general meeting or contact Sue Cormier 637-9597 with any questions
