Report on Home Inspection Program
A little over two months has passed since we first advised our homeowners of the States “My Safe Florida Home” inspections. As of March 10th, eighty PGICA members have completed or signed up for a home inspection. The reports we are receiving have been favorable, with many homeowners receiving large discounts and some reporting refunds from their insurance companies for premiums already paid. A special thanks to Nelson and Kim Stegall, not only for their recent donation to PGICA of $400, but for making the process simple for eligible members to apply for the program.

You may call Nelson or Kim Stegall at 941-628-6281 for information or to make an appointment for your inspection. The Stegalls will bring their laptop computer to your home and assist you in signing up for the program. They will complete your inspection, and provide you with a Uniform Wind Mitigation Verification Inspection form to be forwarded to your insurance agent/company. You may sign up directly with the My Safe Florida Home program online at their website: www.mysafefloridahome.com/ or by phone by calling 1-866-513-6734. They will then assign an inspector.
Important Information About the Program
Single family, detached, site built homes, are eligible for a free inspection. This applies to seasonal residents and non-owner occupied as well.
Mobile homes, condos, manufactured homes, apartments, businesses and multi-family dwellings are not eligible for free inspections.
Homeowners who have a My Safe Florida Home inspection completed will also receive a free report from the program with suggested wind mitigation improvements, estimated cost of improvements and estimated insurance savings if improvements are implemented.
